At kbs+ Ventures, we focus on backing early-stage entrepreneurs with big ideas in advertising and marketing technology. Beyond investing, we work with each of our portfolio companies to help accelerate their growth with agencies, brands, and the larger advertising and marketing ecosystem. In the process, kbs+ Ventures shares key learnings and knowledge about early-stage technology innovation with kbs+, our clients, and our employees.

This role is not the typical VC intern role; rather than focusing on investing, this role is focused on accelerating our portfolio companies. Instead of working on deal screening and investment due diligence, this role will focus on working on strategy and business development with our portfolio companies, and will involve in-depth research, analysis and composition of research reports and case studies about our portfolio companies and industry trends. You’ll work with Ventures, our portfolio companies and the agency to create knowledge returns for all parties and accelerate the growth of our portfolio companies.

Who we’re looking for
Venture Acceleration Associate Intern to assist with kbs+ Ventures’ acceleration of investment and knowledge returns throughout kbs+ Ventures, our portfolio entrepreneurs, kbs+, and our clients.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Assisting Ventures in working with our investment portfolio companies, working on strategy, positioning, and business development.
• Assisting Ventures in creating thoughtful, analytical research and case studies about innovation in advertising and marketing technology for distribution throughout kbs+, our clients, our portfolio entrepreneurs, and the broader industry.
• Assist with Ventures external communications including research reports, newsletters, blogs and social media.
• Associate will develop a keen eye for identifying innovation in the advertising industry, build a deep understanding of business models throughout the industry, and build an extensive network of entrepreneurs and VC colleagues.

Skills and Requirements

• Ideal candidate will love thinking, writing and communicating complex systems and explaining them to the masses.
• Should have a knack for words and great grammar skills and love writing.
• Skills required include broad-based analytical skills, an ability to develop an in-depth understanding of the digital advertising landscape, and a passion for technology and entrepreneurship in general.
• Graduate school-level internship.
• This position is full-time (40 hours a week) from May 2012 to August 2012 (dates TBD) and based in Soho, New York, NY.
