“Where the houses have faces”…

Anyone care to explain why many of the houses I saw in this part of the Bywater had pictures and murals painted on their exteriors?

    That's cool. Perhaps the pictures show the people who live in the houses and in the neighbourhood, or those who've lived there in the past. This photo reminds me of a café here in Gothenburg where the walls are covered with pictures of the café's regular costumers.

    As for why, maybe someone just wanted the houses to stand out and make people take notice. Or maybe it was a local photographer who wanted to display his art in a unique and unconventional way.

    Friends of mine more familiar with the Bywater said that's just what the neighborhood is like, one of the more creative neighborhoods in the US. Many of the houses decorated their houses creatively, with murals, interesting paint schemes, etc. And this, I'm guessing, was this person's way to contribute.

    Pretty cool, in my opinion…
