Waiting, Chicago, Illinois, 2004

I found a challenge, but I’ll tell you about it later.
In June I asked for a challenge, and after a lot of interesting inquiries I found one. But I can’t tell you about it right now. All I can say is that it doesn’t make the most sense, it’s not the most practical, the outcome is unclear, but it’s a good, fitting project for me that I will love doing.

Until then, I’m going to embrace the lure of travel and the nomadic lifestyle and enjoy a little jaunt.

Drop me a line if you’re in London or Tokyo.
I’ll be in London this upcoming weekend, and then on to Japan for a couple weeks before heading back to London for a couple more weeks (more details); as always, drop me a line if you’re around. Seriously.

After London? We’ll see…

Follow along.
Follow the stories, photos and trivialities of this little trip: “A Little Jaunt”.

Should be fun…

The photo above is part 3,289 of my “Places In-Between” project, another long-running, unpublished project that lingers in my mind, refusing to leave.

I recognize specific words you use to assert that you are a gifted individual who is additionally a high achiever, which is a rare combination within the human population. You limit yourself with the “3 to 6 month” deadline; although, I, too, will only work to deadlines. Consider teaching high school. Your summers are off, and every year you’ll face many different challenges. Also rare are GT teachers with worldly experiences who educate GT students. You’re bored with business start-ups because they’re all the same–only the “audience” changes. Such is life for us types; it’s how we’re hardwired. But here’s a truly helpful tip for you: periods and commas ALWAYS go inside the unquote mark without exception; colons and semicolons are on the outside. Well, this is true for Americans–the Brits still think differently.

(I did not know that. Thank you.)

There was a reason I chose a 3-6 month timeframe when I wrote this about 1.5 years ago. Right now, I’m thinking much longer-term than that.nnI think I’d struggle with the bureaucracy of teaching high school. University? :)nnActually more than the audience changes: often, the problem is very different and requires very different solutions. The issue is that many startups these days are solving the same problem with the same solutions.
