    It's interesting that this image is what you picked from Mesa Verde to share. Not my mental image of the place at all – but a great example of how people see different things at the same place. I had also forgotten how mush of the national park system has been devastated by fire. When we went to Yellowstone, whole sections of it looked like this…

    Just have to mix things up sometimes, and I it just happened that the photo was taken at Mesa Verde.

    Although this fire was set by non-natural means (if I remember correctly), remember that fire is a natural part of a forest's lifecycle and serves a valuable purpose…
