usually during the summer the town is busy with events, festivals, tourists, etc… but not right now.

I live 6 miles from that spot. It looks like the back yard of my friends motel where I actually shoot a lot of my dark images in the abandoned house that would have been directly behind you about 30 yards away. It's a small world.

interesting… I don't remember an abandoned house though. to my left on this picture would be a howard johnson motel (or a comfort inn, I forget) and then a house on the right, I believe.

huh? I could have sworn that was the dock and backyard of the Wildwood Motel? The HOJO's is right next to that though, so it's the same view. and thanks for the compliment. Hope you enjoyed the town, I personally can't stand the tourist trap it has become. We live in Saranac Lake instead.

You're spot on: it is the Wildwood Motel… guess you remember what's around it better than me :)

(when I was there Lake Placid was empty, and I'm sure I would have hated it with tourists swarming the shops and stuff downtown. it's a common affliction most successful small towns catch sooner of later.)

so if you turned around from where you were standing and went inside the empty house that was @ 30 yards away, you might have recognized these two areas…
