Why do dancing photos look so atrocious?

Dancing photos typically look atrocious, and for a while I always took tons of photos at parties of people dancing, only to cringe when reviewing the results. The quality of dancing photos is usually in the blackmail potential, catching people in poses completely out of context.

Photos of people dancing only catch one small point in time, while dancing is about stringing together those points of time. Caught out of context of the rest of the motion, that one snippet of movement lacks all meaning, all grace, all power, all feeling.

No links, because I’m not looking to embarass myself or others. That will be done privately :)

London pictures posted

Pictures are now posted from the London jaunt for Kevin’s surprise 30th birthday party (the surprise was the party and the visit, not the birthday of course) are no longer on the web.

For posterity, the results from the Arsenal game
